One of the most unique aspects of our school is our rotating class system for all grade levels. The rotating class system creates a vibrant school atmosphere. Our students aren't sitting in the same desk in the same classroom with the same teacher all day. Instead of getting just the attention of one core classroom teacher, each student has a team of teachers. Lyndon elementary students get the attention of up to nine teachers. They are provided with a schedule that is similar to that of a high school student. (Note that this type of program is cost prohibitive to most schools. At Lyndon the emphasis is on quality.)
This unique style of teaching energizes students and provides them with the opportunity to absorb and retain more information. Teachers teach the subject they love and that passion translates to a love of learning for every subject. There is an incredible level of collaboration that provides each student with a more custom and caring educational program. This collaboration and team style of teaching also allows for more cohesion across all subject areas and provides for seamless transitions from subject to subject. No subject is isolated, and more content is covered in a year to allow teachers to expand on topics and venture into uncharted territory with students.
